Airline says flight from Brussels to Hong Kong was affected by attack, which has disrupted operations at major European airports, including London
Hong Kong flag carrier Cathay Pacific Airways is closely monitoring a cyberattack on European check-in and boarding systems after one of its flights to the city was delayed because of the incident.
Cathay Pacific said in a statement on Sunday that flight CX294 travelling from Brussels to Hong Kong had been affected by the cyberattack, which has disrupted operations at several major European airports, including London’s Heathrow.
“Cathay Pacific is aware of the incident and is closely monitoring the situation,” it said. “Currently, the incident only affects our check-in system at Brussels Airport.”
It added that the flight, which was scheduled to depart Brussels for Hong Kong at 1.25pm local time on Saturday, was delayed as a result.
