Flights have been delayed and cancelled at Heathrow Airport after a cyber-attack hit a service provider for several major European airports.
The attack, which left automated systems for check-in and boarding inoperable, has also affected Brussels and Berlin airports, causing flight disruption across Europe.
Manual check-in procedures have been brought in in response to the incident.
Heathrow said the attack targeted Collins Aerospace, which provides passenger processing systems globally.
The company said it was aware of “cyber-related disruption” to its passenger processing software and was working to “restore full functionality to our customers as quickly as possible”.
