A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a teenager was stabbed to death in a 'disturbance involving a number of people'.
Mohanad Abdullaahi Goobe died following the alleged attack near a church on Monton Street in Manchester at 4.30pm on Monday.
He was found with stab wounds and was treated at the scene and in hospital before tragically being pronounced dead.
In an update on Friday evening, police said they had identified a potentially linked prior incident at Whitworth Park, around half an hour before the alleged attack.
Greater Manchester Police have made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct for their response to this incident.
