Stephen Colbert called out President Donald Trump as an “autocrat” while defending Jimmy Kimmel after the latter’s show was indefinitely suspended following his remarks about the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s killing.
ABC pulled “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” two months after Colbert announced in July that CBS was canceling his show, “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”
“That is blatant censorship,” Colbert said during a taping of his show in New York City on Thursday, referring to Kimmel’s suspension. ”With an autocrat, you cannot give an inch.”
“If ABC thinks that this is going to satisfy the regime, they are woefully naive,” he added.
Colbert said: “And to Jimmy, just let me say: I stand with you and your staff 100%.”
