Stephen Colbert called out President Trump as an “autocrat” while defending Jimmy Kimmel after he was indefinitely suspended following his remarks about the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

ABC pulling Kimmel’s late-night show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” came two months after Colbert announced in July that CBS cancelled his show, “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

“This is blatant censorship,” Colbert said during a taping of his show in New York City on Thursday, referring to Kimmel’s suspension, according to CNBC. “With an autocrat, you cannot give an inch.”

He added: “Jimmy, I stand with you and your staff 100%.”

Kimmel’s suspension kicked off after he made comments about Kirk and Trump supporters during the Sept. 15 episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
