Sept. 19 (UPI) -- A North Carolina man scored a $130,000 jackpot from a Cash 5 lottery drawing just days before his 40th birthday.

Clinton resident Corey Hamilton told North Carolina Education Lottery officials he stopped at the Han-Dee Hugo's on Southeast Boulevard in Clinton and bought a Quick Pick ticket for the Tuesday night drawing.

Hamilton said he checked the drawing results in the early morning hours.

"I woke up at 3:30 and I was like, 'Wait a second that can't be right,'" Hamilton said.

Hamilton scored a $130,000 jackpot.
