Two persons were found dead along the railway track near Lalapettai on Friday.
The Government Railway Police said that R. Annakili, 52, of Gandhi Nagar Colony in Thottiam died after a passenger train heading to Tiruchi from Erode knocked her down. The accident occurred between Kulithalai and Lalapettai stations. Her body was taken to the Kulithalai Government Hospital for post-mortem.
In another accident, G. Subramanian, 45, of Punnavasipatti near Krishnarayapuram was killed by a train near Lalapettai. The accident occurred when he was walking on the track after seeing the body of Annakili. The police send the body of Subramanian to the Kulithalai Government Hospital for post-mortem.
