Let’s get this out of the way first: The New York Giants have only played two games.

I’m sure you’d all like to forget yet another frustrating 0-2 start, but the truth is it’s still really early in the season, so drawing any significant conclusions about what this team is or where it’s going — despite it all looking and feeling way too familiar — is ill-advised.

However, the defense is off to a troubling start. Big picture, it has surrendered nearly 100 more yards of offense than any other unit in the league (910) and given up 63 points in just two games. While there’s plenty of time for defensive coordinator Shane Bowen’s group to turn things around, this wasn’t how things were supposed to go.
