NFL Week 2
ARLINGTON, Tex. — The New York Giants were 19 seconds away from ending so much pain and misery, at least temporarily. Wide receiver Malik Nabers had just gotten open deep — again — for an improbable 48-yard touchdown that gave the Giants a three-point lead over the Dallas Cowboys.
It appeared to be the exclamation point on a resurgent performance from quarterback Russell Wilson. All the Giants’ defense, the alleged strength of the team, had to do was keep the Cowboys out of field-goal range.
On first down, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was pressured by outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux and floated a pass that was nearly intercepted by nose tackle Dexter Lawrence. That left 14 seconds on the clock.
