A self-proclaimed ‘African tribe’ who have been camped in woodland for months have been handed yet another eviction notice.
The so-called Kingdom of Kubala have been living in the woods just outside Jedburgh, Roxburghshire, since May this year.
The group have been controversial in the town, and locals had thought they had finally seen the end to their antics when they were forced off private land by sheriff officers on Tuesday.
But, rather than leave, they moved just 30 yards – out of land owned by retired butcher and property developer David Palmer, over a fence, and into that owned by the council.
But yesterday officials arrived at their new site to inform them of the fresh eviction notice after action from Scottish Borders Council.
