Sept. 17 (UPI) -- The decomposing body found inside an impounded Tesla registered to musician D4vd belonged to a 15-year-old girl reported missing last year, Los Angeles officials said Wednesday.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified the girl as Celeste Rivas, who was reported missing from Lake Elsinore, Calif., authorities told ABC News. Officials told KNBC-TV in Los Angeles that the identification was made through forensics.

"At this time, the LAPD does not have a crime classification from the coroner as to the mode or manner of death," the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement to NBC News. "Thus, we do not have any suspect information at this time."

The examiner was working to determine a cause of death for the girl, made difficult by the decomposition of the body.
