What Do We Know About Celeste Rivas?Celeste Rivas Hernandez was found dead in the trunk of a Tesla car registered under Burke’s name in September last year. The vehicle had been impounded weeks after residents of a Hollywood Hills neighborhood complained that the vehicle may have been abandoned. After discovering her body, police said Rivas may have been dead for several weeks before her body was found. Citing a court document presented to a grand jury, the Los Angeles Times reported that the body had been placed in a black bag and officers discovered that the victim’s arms and legs had been severed from her torso. A second black bag containing other severed body parts was also found in the car. Rivas had been missing from her home in Lake Elsinore, California, since April 2024. Her family had reported her missing three times that year.TangentPrior to Thursday’s arrest, authorities had not publicly declared that the singer was a suspect. However, the fact that he was under investigation by a Los Angeles County grand jury overseeing the death of Rivas was revealed in a separate court filing in Texas in February. The filing was made by Burke’s parents and brother, who were objecting to a Texas court subpoena seeking their testimony. The Tesla, in which Rivas’ body was found, was registered under the singer’s name at his family’s Texas address, the filings revealed.Key BackgroundD4vd rose to fame in recent years after a number of his songs went viral on TikTok.
