A police probe has been launched into the 'unexplained' deaths of an elderly man and woman in a sleepy Oxfordshire village. The man in his 80s and woman in her 70s were found dead at a property in Milton, Abington. Thames Valley Police said: 'At around 7pm on Monday (September 15), Thames Valley Police was called to the unexpected death of two people at a property in Milton, Abingdon.'Sadly, the bodies of a woman in her 70s and a man in his 80s were found.'Their family have been informed and is being supported by specially trained officers.'Our thoughts are very much with the family at this extremely difficult time.'The investigation is ongoing at this time.'We would ask that people do not speculate, and we can confirm that at this time, no one else is being sought in relation to this incident.' Mervyn Beckett, who works at a garage just 50 yards away from the house has been living in the area for around five years.'There were four or five police vehicles on the first night before the forensics then turned up,' he said.'It is all very unusual compared to a normal incident.'I've never seen anything like this here before as it's a quiet, hidden area.'The police aren't really telling us anything apart from two people have died.'We don't know if there is an ongoing threat or not, which is worrying, as we have seen this sort of stuff before on TV.'It is very strange, and the police are not saying anything whatsoever.'Thames Valley Police is yet to comment further with an investigation underway into the 'unexpected' deaths.The force remained at the scene on Wednesday with officers stationed outside the house.Forensics were also still at the site in Milton with workers in full white body suits seen walking along the road and heading to their van from the house.The family of the deceased are being supported by Thames Valley Police.
