Preparations for the annual Dasara festival at Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam atop Indrakeeladri here are going at a brisk pace and nearing completion.Endowments Commissioner K. Ramachandra Mohan, Kanaka Temple Executive Officer V.K. Seenanayaak and temple priests extended festival invitation to Minister for Endowments Anam Ramanarayana Reddy.Later, the Minister reviewed the arrangements being made for the festivities. The officials told him that the arrangements were going on at a brisk pace. Stressing the importance of providing a hassle-free darshan for devotees who arrive in large numbers, the Minister directed officials to ensure fool-proof security, smooth queue lines and adequate facilities.The Minister on the occasion said the Vijayawada Dasara celebrations were a nationally recognised festival. The government is committed to making all arrangements so that every devotee can easily receive the blessings of Goddess Kanaka Durga. On Moola Nakshatram day and on Vijayadashami, free prasadam will be provided to all devotees. Special arrangements will also be made to ensure that pilgrims from different parts of the State and country face no difficulties in transport, he said.Endowments Principal Secretary Hari Jawaharlal also conducted a review later. The discussions covered arrangements such as Giripradakshina routes, queue management systems, medical camps, drinking water, sanitation and transport facilities.
