Two Royal Caribbean International cruise guests were injured during an onboard altercation, according to the company and emergency responders.
The incident took place on the cruise line’s Wonder of the Seas ship on Sept. 15.
"Our team provided medical care to adult guests who were involved in an altercation onboard, and the guests are being treated for their injuries," the line’s parent company, Royal Caribbean Group, told USA TODAY in an email. "We notified local authorities and are working closely with them."
The company did not share additional specifics about the altercation. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said four units "responded to reports of a medical call at PortMiami" around 7 p.m. "Two adult patients were transported by ground to a local-area hospital," the emailed statement continued.
The ship is currently sailing a round-trip Bahamas cruise from Miami, according to CruiseMapper.
