A five-year-old boy drowned in a water tank at the sago factory run by his father on Rasipuram Road here on Sunday evening.
The deceased was identified as Kiruthik, son of Jai Prasanth (34), a resident of Thandavarayapuram near Attur. On Sunday, Kiruthik went to his father’s factory. While playing, he fell into a ground-level water tank on the premises and drowned. Following his disappearance, his family members searched for him and found the body in the tank. The Attur Town police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Attur Government Hospital. The police registered a case and are investigating further.
In a separate case, K. Vishnu (15), a resident of Konur near Mettur, drowned in River Cauvery on Sunday. The Mettur police registered a case and are investigating further.
