Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Ireland's Coolmore "lads" and trainer Aidan O'Brien had a special weekend with signal victories in both England and the Emerald Isle -- results that will echo in racing and breeding for years to come.

With several of those races serving as "Win and You're In" events for the Breeders' Cup, a victory by the Japanese Derby winner in France and a Group 1 "three-peat" in Australia, we'll start on the global front. But there's no shortage of North American doings.

Ireland

That massive sigh of relief that swept over northeast Ireland shortly after 5:30 p.m. Saturday came from the Coolmore "lads" and trainer Aidan O'Brien in response to the outcome of the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown.
