Young men and women, especially those trained in farm sciences, should take up innovation and launch agri start-ups, Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot said in Dharwad on Sunday.
He was speaking after inaugurating Krishi Mela 2025 organized by the University of Agricultural Sciences.
The Governor spoke of the need to make agriculture a profitable venture and called upon farmers to make the best use of government schemes designed for their welfare.
“The Union and State governments have launched several initiatives for the development of agriculture and allied sectors. Farmers should actively avail themselves of the benefits of these schemes,” he said.
He said that innovation and entrepreneurship are important in the field of agriculture and allied sectors. He urged the youth and women to participate more actively in the agriculture sector.
