“I hope everyone will come together within a month,” said former Minister and Gobichettipalayam MLA K.A. Sengottaiyan on party unity at the Coimbatore airport on Saturday, adding that he was travelling to Chennai to attend a family wedding.
With the 10-day deadline he had set for the AIADMK high command to readmit former members nearing its end, he was asked about the status of the process. He said, “Everything is for the good of the party,” without any further comment.
He added: “As far as I am concerned, the party should function well. Everyone should come together.”
On a question as to whether he would meet Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the city, Mr. Sengottaiyan said: “I am not going to meet her; I am going for a family wedding in Chennai.”
Asked if he would visit Delhi, he said, “Time will tell.”
