A doctor and a mediator were arrested for revealing the sex of the foetus on Friday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Salem District Joint Director (medical services) Nandhini raided the ultrasound scan room at Salem Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital, in which the hospital doctor Thiyagarajan revealed the sex of the foetus of a pregnant woman. The team nabbed the doctor and mediator Sri Ram and handed them over to the Salem Government Hospital police station. The police registered a case and arrested the duo and are investigating further.
