A loft with a commercial storefront in Ayden, a cottage in Houston and a Classic Revival house in Detroit
By Angela Serratore
This building was originally constructed as a Masonic hall and garage, and today the top level is a three-bedroom, three-bathroom home, with another bathroom off the lower level’s garage and a storefront with a commercial tenant. A popular fish fry restaurant, a bakery, and a tavern are all within walking distance, and a Piggly Wiggly supermarket is five minutes away by car. The campus of East Carolina University, a public institution with more than 26,000 students, is 15 minutes away.
Croatan National Forest, where saltwater estuaries are a draw for bird-watchers, is 50 minutes away. Raleigh is 90 minutes away, and driving to Wilmington takes around two hours.
