The attacker fired a single shot before jumping off a roof and fleeing into the neighbourhood, authorities say
The FBI on Thursday released two photographs of a person of interest wanted in connection with the shooting of US President Donald Trump’s youth leader ally Charlie Kirk, offering a US$100,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the person or people responsible for the attack
Investigators said they have also recovered a high-powered, bolt-action rifle they believe was used in the killing and are reviewing video footage of the person they believe was responsible.
The sniper who assassinated the right-wing activist fired a single fatal shot before jumping off a roof and fleeing, authorities said. The photos show a person wearing a hat, sunglasses and a long-sleeved black shirt.
Kirk, a 31-year-old podcast-radio commentator and the co-founder of the conservative student group Turning Point USA, is credited with helping build the Republican Party’s support among younger voters.
