Two people, including a teenage boy, have been seriously injured in a stabbing at a busy bus station. Police were called to Wigan Interchange in the town's centre at around 5.20pm on Wednesday evening. A 42-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries in the incident, police have said. A teenage girl has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. She remains in custody for questioning.Police did not say whether anyone had been arrested for the stabbings - and it is believed the knifeman is still on the run. A picture showed an area inside the interchange having been taped off with officers standing guard.An investigation is underway with police urging any witnesses to come forward.Superintendent Danny O'Neil from Greater Manchester Police said: 'There is a scene in place while our officers investigate the incident and the events that led up to it. A picture from inside Wigan Interchange shows an area having been taped off with officers standing guard'We will also have officers in the area throughout the evening and are currently reviewing CCTV and obtaining witness statements.'Anyone who was in the area at the time and has information or saw the incident should contact us.'The Daily Mail has contacted Greater Manchester Police for further comment. The Bee Network said: 'Due to a police incident at Wigan Bus Station, bus services are unable to call at Wigan bus station until further notice.'Bus numbers 22A, 352, 360, 375, 385, 602, 603, 604, 609, 610, 633, 634, 639, 640 and 641 are diverting via King Street West, Dorning Street, Richmond Street, Hallgate and King Street West in both directions, they said.Numbers 110, 575, 605, 606, 607, 608, 613, 615, 630, 631, 632 and 635 are diverting via Bridgeman Terrace, Mesnes Park, Parsons Walk and New Market Street in both directions.The 132 is diverting is starting and terminating at King Street West and the 320 is diverting via River Way, Powel Street and Mesnes Street in both directions, they added.
