WASHINGTON, September 11. /TASS/. A suspect in the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has been detained and is in custody, FBI Director Kash Patel said.
"The subject for the horrific shooting today that took the live of Charlie Kirk is now in custody," he wrote on his X page.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that Kirk had died following an assassination attempt in Utah and offered his condolences to Kirk’s family.
According to media reports, Kirk was shot and killed at a Utah college event. Being Trump’s supporter, Kirk had been speaking against providing US military aid to Ukraine.
