Officials are scheduled to provide an update in the investigation of the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Kirk, a close political ally of President Donald Trump, was shot and killed while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10.

As of early Sept. 11, authorities were still searching for the suspected shooter. Two people had been detained in the hours after the shooting, including one who was interrogated by law enforcement, but both were subsequently released.
