Israel launched a deadly attack on Hamas leadership in Qatar, in an assault that threatens to plunge the region into a wider conflict.
Israel media, citing a senior Israeli official, said the attack was aimed at top Hamas leaders including Khalil al-Hayya, its Gaza chief.
Hamas has since claimed its negotiating delegation survived the airstrike, however six others were killed, including al-Hayya's son and a Qatari security forces member.
Doha immediately condemned the 'cowardly' attack, described as a 'flagrant violation to all international law'.
The US claimed forewarned Qatar ahead of the airstrike, however Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said they had told them ten minutes after the attack.
