The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India is hosting a four-day international gathering from Tuesday (September 9, 2025), bringing together officials from over 29 countries. The event focuses on how emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), data analytics, and geospatial tools can improve public audit systems and citizen-focused transparent governance.
The global dialogue being held in Hyderabad includes the 34th Annual Meeting of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions’ Working Group on IT Audit, a high-level summit on AI and emerging technologies, and its 17th meeting of its Knowledge Sharing Committee. The International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions represents national audit offices from over 190 countries.
Shaping global strategies
India currently leads both the IT Audit Working Group and the Knowledge Sharing Committee. It is playing a key role in shaping global strategies for using technology in public auditing. Under the leadership of CAG K. Sanjay Murthy, the India’s supreme auditing body has been at the forefront of adopting AI, big data, and satellite technology to improve how government spending is tracked and evaluated, said the organisation in a statement.
