CNN’s chief data analyst Harry Enten on Monday stressed how President Donald Trump’s approval rating — as well as his polling on several major issues — isn’t doing so hot.
“Sometimes we lose the forest for the trees, but I want to look at the forest, and it is one ugly duckling forest that we’re looking at for Donald Trump,” said Enten in a segment with CNN’s John Berman.
Enten turned to an aggregate of polling showing Trump with a net approval rating (percent approval minus percent disapproval) that’s “underwater” on his two “strongest issues:” crime (-2) and immigration (-3).
Enten — who has recently flagged how Americans have turned on Trump when it comes to his tariffs and inflation — also noted that the president carries a sour net approval rating when it comes to foreign policy (-12), trade (-17) and the economy (-14), the latter issue which helped him get elected to a second term.
“On all the key issues, he is again swimming with the fishes — consistency across the board,” Enten added.
