The Chennai city police have arrested a 17-year-old boy for issuing a bomb threat to Koyambedu Metro Rail station. He was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board.
According to police, Vignesh, the officer in-charge of Chennai Metro Rail control centre at Koyambedu lodged a complaint at Koyambedu police station on Friday (September 5, 2025). The complaint stated that an unknown person called the women helpline of Chennai Metro Rail and snapped the line immediately after saying that a bomb was placed in a Metro Rail. Subsequently, when the staff called the mobile number, the call was not answered.
