A teen was murdered near Tirunelveli railway junction on Friday midnight due to apparent prior enmity.
Police said Venkatesh alias Ananth, 19, of Sundarar Street in Tirunelveli Town, who was supplying packaged drinking water, had come to Tirunelveli Junction with his friends. When they had tea in a shop near Tirunelveli Railway Junction, an altercation broke-out between them and a few others there. As Ananth was hacked, he died on the spot.
Based on the CCTV footages collected from the scene of crime and the information provided by the friends of the deceased, the police nabbed two persons in connection with the murder.
Police said preliminary investigation had revealed that the teenaged had been murdered due to prior enmity.
Efforts are on to nab other accused.
