Clarkson first captivated audiences in 2002 with her vocals on “American Idol,” launching a career that resonated with millions. Now, in 2025, the singer thanked fans for a moment like this.
“To everyone that took time 23 years ago to call in and vote for me, thank you,” Clarkson wrote on Instagram Thursday, alongside a photo of her win. “Winning American Idol changed my life and I will be forever grateful for all of you that have supported me for so many years.”
The singer and talk show host went on to praise her journey and take time to note how important it is to find one’s “purpose.”
“It is a gift to find your purpose and passion, and to be able to make a living doing it is the cherry on top. Thank you, always,” she concluded.
