Members of the IT and ITES Democratic Employees Association (IIDEA) staged a protest on TCS Whitefield campus on Friday, opposing the dismissal of 12,261 mid and senior-level employees and a new policy requiring 225 billable days annually.

The members said that over 500 professionals were supposed to join in July, but their onboarding had been delayed. Many of them had already quit their previous jobs and were now uncertain about their future, they said.

The union’s demands include halting layoffs and forced resignations, providing severance, healthcare, and transition support, disclosing layoff criteria, and consulting employees before restructuring, and using automation and AI to reduce workload, not jobs.
