Defence Minister Guido Crosetto's personal X account was hacked on Thursday, the defence ministry said after posts appeared on it asking for cryptocurrency donations - one for Giorgio Armani's funeral and another for Gaza.
The account appeared to be back to normal early on Friday.
"Yesterday they hacked my X account," the minister wrote in a subsequently-deleted post.
"It's as if they could run it at the same time as me".
