ichard Shepherd, 72, was a Home Office forensic pathologist who performed more than 23,000 post-mortem examinations. He worked on the Princess Diana inquiry, the Hungerford massacre, the sinking of the Marchioness, the Harold Shipman and Stephen Lawrence cases, the 9/11 inquiry, the murder of the MP Jo Cox, the 7/7 bombings and the Clapham Junction train crash. Shepherd, who has five children, has solved the mysteries of countless unexplained deaths, faced serial killers and his evidence has put killers behind bars. His book Unnatural Causes was a Sunday Times bestseller. He has appeared on TV in Death Detective; Murder, Mystery and My Family; and The Truth About My Murder. He lives in Northwich, Cheshire, with his wife, Linda, and their two dogs.
