A former volleyball referee was tonight named as the second victim of the deadly tram disaster in Lisbon that killed 16 people.
The Portuguese Volley Ball Federation announced that Pedro Trinidade had died in the dramatic Elevador da Gloria funicular crash on Wednesday evening.
The organisation released a picture of the sportsman and said it was said it was 'deeply saddened by the tragedy.'
Lisbon authorities said on Thursday that sixteen people were killed after the tram-like funicular derailed and slammed into a hotel corner building as it made its descent towards the city centre.
André Jorge Gonçalves Marques, who worked as the brake guard on the ill-fated ride, was the first victim to be named.
