Sivaganga Congress MP Karti Chidambaram on Thursday said the BJP government had finally heeded to the demands of the Opposition parties for simplification and reduction of GST tax structure.
Speaking to reporters, he said the GST rates were not only confusing, but also worried businesses as officials humiliated them under the pretext of irregularities. If the government had listened to the suggestion of the Opposition parties long back, people, especially the marginalised sections, would have benefited since the COVID-19 pandemic period.
