The Union Social Justice Ministry has already started working with the Education Ministry on developing transgender-inclusive education and learning materials for school-level education, Social Justice Secretary Amit Yadav said on Thursday (September 4, 2025) in New Delhi.

Mr. Yadav’s remarks came at a national conference to highlight transgender people and their issues, which was organised by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). These remarks come days after the Supreme Court issued notices to the Centre, several States, and the NCERT, on a petition seeking integration of transgender-inclusive comprehensive sexuality education into school curricula across the country.
