The AIADMK, an ally of the BJP in Tamil Nadu, has welcomed the GST Council’s approval of the two-rate slab. AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami wholeheartedly welcomed what he termed “historic decisions” of the GST Council.
In a social media post, Mr. Palaniswami appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership in steering transformative reforms, and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for her dedicated efforts in ensuring a simplified and growth-oriented GST framework.
