UFC President Dana White says agreement with Galaxy Macau hotel could not have ‘come at a better time’
UFC and Galaxy Macau have signed a new four-year deal, with the world’s top MMA organisation committing to hosting three fight nights in the casino city.
In a statement on Thursday, UFC said the partnership followed what it called “the resounding success” of last year’s Yan v Figueiredo clash, which was the promotion’s fourth event in Macau since 2012.
Dana White, UFC President and CEO, said the agreement with the hotel, which runs from next year through 2029, could not have “come at a better time”.
“I’ve just returned from China and everything about it was incredible – the culture, the people and the athletes,” White added. “It’s great for fight fans in China and massive for the sport.”
