Sept. 2 (UPI) -- McDonald's is responding to rising food prices by bringing back its popular extra value meals menu, which the company says will help diners save up to 15% on their fast-food orders.

The extra value meals will be available starting on Monday and will cost as little as $5 for McDonald's breakfast meals, according to Food & Wine.

The new value meals will start with a sausage McMuffin with egg, hash brown and a small coffee for $5.

McDonald's also will provide options for extra value dinner meals later this month that would cost $8, plus tax, including a Big Mac, fries and a medium drink.

Customers will be able to choose among eight meal deals across breakfast, lunch and dinner through the end of the year.
