The Supreme Court on Tuesday (September 2, 2025) made absolute the interim protection from arrest earlier granted to Indore-based cartoonist Hemant Malviya in a case registered against him for allegedly sharing “objectionable” cartoons of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

A Bench of Justices Aravind Kumar and N.V. Anjaria disposed of his anticipatory bail plea after noting that Mr. Malviya had complied with its earlier direction to publish apologies on his social media handles.
