Maoists abducted and killed a 25-year-old man, working as a ‘shikshadoot’ or temporary teacher in a government school, in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur on Friday (August 29, 2025).
Bastar Inspector General of Police P. Sundarraj identified the victim as Kallu Tati, a resident of Todka village under Gangaloor police station limits. He said that Tati was the eighth ‘shikshadoot’ to be killed by Maoists in the past two years in the Bastar range. Six such murders have been reported in 2025, indicating an uptrend.
