The Judicial First Class Magistrate Court on Friday (August 29, 2025) transferred to the District Sessions Court a petition filed by Manjusha, wife of former Kannur Additional District Magistrate (ADM) K. Naveen Babu, seeking further investigation into his death.
The order was issued after the court accepted the plea of K. Viswan, counsel for former district panchayat president P.P. Divya, that the matter be taken up by the sessions court. Kannur Judicial First Class Magistrate Mohammed Ali Shahshad pronounced the verdict stating that the higher court will decide whether a fresh probe is necessary.
