A 33-year-old person was killed when he was thrown into a backwater after his bike collided with a car on Ariankuppam bridge on Thursday evening.
Police identified the victim as Santhosh Kumar, a resident of Chidambaram. According to the police, when the car hit the bike, he was thrown over the guardrail in the impact and fell in the river. Another biker, Manju, a resident of Puducherry, sustained injuries in the collision on the bridge and has been admitted to the Government Hospital, the police said.
