The record rainfall event(576 mm) in Kamareddy district from August 26 morning and 28 morning is among the second highest rainfall since 1908 and is considered among the most extreme in Telangana’s history. It ranks second only to 626 mm two-day rainfall recorded on September 6, 1990 in Gangaram village of Mahabubabad district.

What stands out in case of Kamareddy flood event is that multiple mandals in the district recorded over 300 mm rain in 48 hours (August 26 morning to August 28 morning), placing it within the State’s top 30 historical events since 1900.
