Telangana’s Kamareddy still under sheet of water; survivors recall how houses were flooded in two hours

Unprecedented rains lashed Kamareddy district and its rural parts on Wednesday (August 27, 2025). The district headquarters is still under a sheet of water. Several colonies in the town are submerged in the flood water forcing the residents to vacate their houses and reach safer places.

Three colonies – GR Colony, Teachers Colony, Housing Board Colony – and Sarampally ST Residential School in Kamareddy Town bore the brunt of the ravaging rain water as in less than two hours, water level touched two-floors catching the residents unawares.
