If you’ve spent more than a minute in an airport recently, you might’ve noticed everyone wearing these curved running shoes strapped with weird hole-y outsoles under them. Those ubiquitous sneakers are by a Swiss brand called On Running, and if you don’t already own a pair, you should know that they’re only getting trendier by the second — for practical reasons, actually!

The On Cloudswift 3 is defined by the brand as a forward-rolling road shoe.

This means it has a curved outsole from the heel to toe that easily propels your toe-off when running and walking. In other words, your stride in these should feel like autopilot. The removable memory foam insole cushions your foot and distributes your weight consistently for an upbeat but even step. A durable, high-abrasion rubber tread gives you stability indoors and out, even on wet surfaces. “After tearing a tendon on my foot these are the only shoes I have been able to wear,” one wrote. “Gives me the support I need both on the sides and bottom of my foot.”

Designed with a “sock-fit,” the sneakers boast a connected tongue that keeps your foot in place as you move. “For me, that is a MORE comfy design!” one wrote. “I honestly think the whole soft stretchy surround makes for an incredibly comfy fit. The heel being high at back does NOT give me any discomfort whatsoever.”
