Maryland Gov. Wes Moore said Tuesday that President Donald Trump “seems to be obsessed with me” as he again mocked the president’s claim that Moore called him “the greatest president of my lifetime.”
Appearing on CNN, the Democratic governor derided Trump’s “absolutely comical” recollection of their brief meeting at the Army-Navy game in December, as he noted how the president habitually refers to Moore’s looks.
Trump made the since-debunked claim from the Oval Office on Monday.
Footage of Trump and Moore meeting at the game, from an episode of Fox Nation’s “The Art of the Surge” and played by Fox News on Monday, suggests a friendliness between the pair, but there is no moment in which Moore calls Trump the greatest anything.
Moore initially responded to Trump’s claim on X, formerly Twitter, by simply writing “lol.” “Keep telling yourself that, Mr. President,” he added.
