Inside the Knesset in Jerusalem, Israel's politicians formulate laws and set the nation's policy. Since the war began almost two years ago, though, the public has turned the immediate area outside it into their own domain. The family members of hostages have set up a camp plastered with posters to remind lawmakers that their loved ones must be brought home in a deal. In a separate tent not far away, the right-wing Gvura Forum, made up of people who lost family members on October 7 but oppose any concessions, urge the government to continue the war until the last of its objectives are achieved.
