Over the past several years, Israel's anti-government protest movement has made use of a wide range of public spaces – from iconic spots like Jerusalem's Balfour Street and Tel Aviv's Kaplan Street to university campuses, bridges and highway junctions. Not long after October 7, Begin Gate, just down the road from Kaplan, was added to the list as angry hostage families broke from the more neutral Hostage Square rallies to stage their own fiery protests.
